Erie, PA, August 4, 2015— The streak for big winners continued over the weekend for players at Eldorado’s Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, Pennsylvania. The bad beat jackpot was $101,918.40 at the time it hit at 6:00pm on Saturday, August 1, 2015.

Saturday night’s Bad Beat Jackpot at Presque Isle Downs & Casino was won by an anonymous player from Conneaut, Ohio who walked away with $50,959.20 from a “losing” hand. The Bad Beat Jackpot occurs when a sufficiently strong hand is shown down and loses to an even stronger hand held by another player. At Presque Isle Downs & Casino the qualifier is Aces full of Kings (player must have pocket Aces).

Cathy James of Durham, North Carolina won $25,479.60 for her “winning hand”. The remaining share was split among eight players each winning $3,184.95. Michael Joyce of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; Daniel Watkins of Linesville, Pennsylvania; Jason Ross of Franklin, Pennsylvania; Timothy Thomas of Erie, Pennsylvania; Ann Schodt of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Albin Lindstrom of Corry, Pennsylvania all shared in the $25,479.60 remaining. There were two additional players from Corning, New York and Erie, Pennsylvania who chose to remain anonymous.

On August 2, 2015 the Bad Beat Jackpot contribution will discontinue, however the meter jackpot amount will remain until it hits. The new promotional fund going forward will be utilized for more player promotions to help drive loyalty and put more monies back into the players’ hands.

“Our sister property Mountaineer Casino has seen very positive results in their poker room with these changes and we are excited that our players will now have the same opportunity,” said Jeff Favre, Presque Isle Downs & Casino Vice President and General Manager.

This is the eighth Bad Beat Jackpot won since opening the poker room in October of 2011.
